For too long, mainstream media has dictated what is acceptable and what is not, stifling the voices and stories of real women in the process. But here, in this corner of the internet, we're flipping the script.

I'm done with the double standards and the stigma surrounding boudoir photography. I refuse to let societal norms dictate how we celebrate our bodies, our beauty, and our sexuality. That's why I'm taking matters into my own hands and launching uncensored blogs.

We are allowed self-love. We don’t need a *reason* to book a shoot!

Self-Love is Not Selfish. 

I’ve heard the term self-love thrown around a lot lately; hell, even I use it daily… but what does it actually mean? Self-love is the act of prioritizing yourself and your well-being. It's about recognizing your worth and treating yourself with the same kindness and respect that you would offer to others. And while self-love may seem like a selfish act, it's actually quite the opposite. When you love yourself, you become a better partner, friend, parent, and human being. 

When I use self-love in terms of my own clients, it’s because self-love in boudoir photography is absolutely essential. Here’s why: 

It builds confidence

Confidence is literally key when it comes to your boudoir session, and at the core of it, self-love is actually the foundation of that confidence.  When you love and accept yourself, even in the most basic sense, you start to feel more confident in your own skin.  Those nerves melt away, and your self-consciousness and self-doubt stop mattering so much. You stop focusing on all you see that’s “wrong” in the photo and, instead, start to see EVERYTHING that’s beautiful and right.  And when I tell you you’re perfect just the way you are? I mean it. 

It's a form of self-care

Self-love is an act of self-care. Taking care of yourself is not selfish, it's essential.If you’ve ever been on an airplane, you know during the safety talk they ALWAYS say to put YOUR oxygen mask on FIRST before helping others- including your children. Because when you prioritize your well-being, you're better able to show up for the people in your life. And I’ll absolutely be the first to tell you that booking a boudoir session is a form of self-care.

Honestly, I think it’s one of the best ones. You not only get to see yourself in a whole new light, through my lens? But you get pampered to hell and we spoil the shit outta you during your entire session day… and even after. Your session is a chance to celebrate your body, to feel confident and sexy, and to treat yourself to something special. Doesn’t that sound like a beautiful form of self-care? 

It sets a positive example

Not only does it sound beautiful, but when you love and prioritize yourself, you set a positive example for others to follow. You show others that it's okay to take care of themselves, to prioritize their well-being, and to love themselves unconditionally. And in a world that often tells us we're not enough, this is a powerful message to send. And I think that’s why I absolutely love working with each one of you so much. You’re setting that same example to others that IT IS OKAY to love yourself, IT IS OKAY to take care of yourself, and IT IS OKAY to prioritize yourself.

“I want to preface by saying I’m a good mom, or at least I try to be! My husband and I have barely had sex the month this happened due to usually family chaos and colds and sports. Well, now grandma is worried, and trying to help us by giving tips to managing a fight and suggesting square dance lessons.  my husband starts laughing so I start laughing. Anyways grandma isn’t impressed and neither was our son.”

“Here goes nothing…. I had a few drinks after a night out of with my new bf. When we got home I was feeling some kind of way. I thought it would be the perfect opportunity to do a strip tease. Of course I had to start a sexy dance on a chair. However I’m not a dancer and I flipped over… with the chair. He yelled OMG! Are you ok?! Which for some reason his genuine concerned made it that much more humiliating. We both ended up laughing our asses off.”

How To Create This Look!

Line the lips to create a clean lip application. It also helps make your lips look symmetrical and full! Pluuuusss keeps your lip color from looking messy as you’re out and about! Be careful not to over line. Line right at the outer lip line.

Step 1)  Make an "X" shape to define the highest points of your bow. 

Step 2) Work your way out from the high points. I do smaller strokes until I reach the outer corners of the lips.

Step 3) On the outer corners of the lips I simply lightly color in inner section with the lip liner.  (Do not overline your natural lip line from the points to the inner corners!)

Step 4) Apply lipstick. Like a coloring book! No need to put the lipstick where you’ve lined.

It was more than a party; it was a celebration of badassery!! ;) YALL really showed up for this. I’ll be totally honest- photographing 25 women in my studio was a first for me..it was a challenge, but I am SO pleased with the outcome! So look..even I stepped out of my normal comfort zone with them!

Bridal boudoir photography is one of the most unique and intimate ways to both capture your beauty & sensuality before your big wedding day! It's a chance for you, the bride, to not only feel comfortable and empowered, but to have a special gift for your partner right before you walk down the aisle.Let's go over some tips to help you prepare for your big day before your big day. 

Choose the right photographer

The first step in booking a bridal boudoir session is to choose the right photographer. Look for a photographer who specializes in boudoir photography (cough cough MEEEE) and has experience working not only with brides, but also someone who has extensive experience working with all different body types. It's important to find someone who makes you feel comfortable and confident, and who can guide you through the process of posing and styling. Obviously this goes for any type of session- but especially a boudoir session. 

Plan ahead

Bridal boudoir sessions should be planned well in advance of your wedding day. This will allow you to schedule your session at a time that works best for you and me, and to allow plenty of time for editing and ordering prints or albums. Keep in mind our normal turnaround time is 4-8 weeks from your session date for products. 

Choose your lingerie carefully

The lingerie you choose for your bridal boudoir session can be chosen to match the style and theme of your wedding - isn't that AMAZING?! Consider colors that complement your wedding dress and accessories, and choose lingerie that makes you feel confident and beautiful. Don't forget to include touches of your wedding like your veil or wedding shoes. If you're not feeling those whites & ivories? No problem; let's go with some sultry blacks. There's no wrong answer in choosing colors. Your session doesn't HAVE to scream bridal. We have hundreds of beautiful lingerie in our client closet! Things for every body shape and size. You don’t have to even pack a single thing.

Hair and Makeup!

Hair and makeup can make a big difference in the final results of your bridal boudoir photos. And guess what? You don't even have to find your own hair and makeup artist! Couples Boudoir- How Steamy is it Truly?

Y’all know all about our solo couple’s sessions, but have you truly ever thought about doing a couple’s session… and more importantly, how steamy it can actually get?  Honestly, so many of our clients end up even more nervous about booking a couple’s session… After all, it’s one thing to feel confident and sexy on your own, but in front of your partner? Those nerves, that vulnerability…. y’all know all about those haha! But let’s face it - there's something truly special and intimate about having your partner present during a boudoir session, and participating in it… Capturing that love and chemistry and everything that makes y’all you. But how steamy are they really? 

Honestly - the answer to that question is… it totally depends on you!! While the vibe of your session depends fully on you and your partner and I let my couples guide the session in terms of their comfort level, there are no moments of being fully undressed together and I'm still going to guide you into poses as i typically would- which looks a lot steamier than it truly is LOL.

I think the one thing that sets couples boudoir apart from our traditional solo sessions is the opportunity to capture so many more candid and playful moments.  Those whispered secrets, the stolen kisses, the moments of laughter, the in betweens.  I cannot emphasize enough how much those moments truly are my favorite. Of course, if you’re wanting to get a bit steamier, strip down to the bare necessities? One partner absolutely can! But I’ll be completely transparent - there’s absolutely nothing truuuuly steamy and x-rated about having me yell out “STOP HOLD IT DON’T YOU DARE MOVE” while I capture those poses. I’ll be directing you the entire time, and while I do on occasion step back and let y’all take the lead with your communication, I’m still there to guide y’all. 

At the end of the day though, babes, if you’re still feeling nervous about booking your couple’s session? Do some preparation beforehand. Plan those outfits together, practice some poses, and even go through our socials and find photos that y’all would love to mirror during your own session.  Trust in me to capture y’alls raw intimacy. Hi there Wild Heart! I am Paige, your super EXTRA and passionate boudoir photographer. I absolutely love everything about what I do! I love helping women realize the power and beauty they hold within themselves through this art we make together!

I have been a boudoir photographer for 13 years now, which absolutely blows my mind! During those 13 years I have learned and grown so much in my craft. I’ve definitely learned to follow my gut, as well as my heart when it comes to chasing my dream! I used to second guess myself at the start of this journey..I thought I had to focus on other styles of photography..not zoning into only boudoir, but I no longer do that! I have found strength, joy and power through this work. I started my photography career doing family and product photography, as well as weddings. The whole time my heart was screaming at me BOUDOIR! I finally took the leap and I have never looked back. It was hands down the best decision of my life!! I got more than a new career path.. I got this BAD ASS girl gang as well! A place I have found so many new friendships and bonds, and a place we have created together where we can be each others biggest cheer leaders! I could not ask for anything more! So, my advice… if its something tugging at your heart then just TAKE THAT LEAP, and don’t look back! It might just be the best thing to ever happen to you!
